Susan Hamlin![]() Susan gets right to the spirit of the music, deftly crafting an enlightenearray of the finest songs she's heard and written into a truly magical sound. She started singing before she could read, and picked up the guitar as a fourteen-year-old folkie from Buffalo, New York. As a Philadelphia based college student she started her solo career on the coffeehouse and college circuit, her musical horizons later expanding into group ventures in many styles. Her early influences were diverse, from traditional blues, bluegrass & Broadsides to the greats -- Ella to Aretha to Lambert, Hendricks & Ross to Wolfgang Amadeus to Joni to Roy & Dale. Look for Susan Hamlin at concerts, festivals, live radio, creative school & library programs, Irish pubs, recording studios and late night jam sessions. Solo or in collaboration with some very fine players. Hear for yourself whaudiences get goose bumps when Susan sings. They really do. What people are saying about Susan Hamlin:V Hamlin's eclectic repertoire is a rich, rewarding journey through the found and forgotten treasures of folk, masterfully rendered in a voice full of longing and resolve.-- Mike Curtin, The Post Star I have been booking Caffe Lena for the past three years and have had the opportunity to book Susan a number of times Susan's voice is eautiful and her guitar work is solid.
